Just a rough draft at the moment...

I'm just saving this for my own benefit. If you have anything of value to ass, please do in a comment. Keep in mind that while this is addressed to Mr. Obama, I will also be sending this to Mr. McCain. Any input is welcomed.

Dear Mr. Obama,

I'm writing a bit out of desperation and a bit out of hope. I've seen your commercials and I've read your plans for the future should you be elected president of these United States. I'd also like to tell you that I've contacted your opponent with the same questions.

I'm sure you receive numerous e-mails and letters from people who are frightened about the economic crisis we now face. While this e-mail has been brought about due to the current circumstance, it is my sincere hope that you will find and read this not only as another e-mail from someone who is experiencing problems, but from someone who has put her family and well being on the line in an effort to help others. Granted, I have not served in an of our armed forces (though I do have plenty of family members and friends who have), nor have I been able to contribute much to any campaign or anything of the like. I am, however, a women who has dedicated her life to attempted to help others in emergent situations. By that, I mean that for the last four years, I have dedicated my life and made it my career to help others in emergencies. I am an Emergency Medical Dispatcher. Not as glamorous as being an EMT or Paramedic, but I do contribute to making sure that people get the help they need in as timely a fashion as I can provide.

Was this something I dreamed about doing since I was a child? No. For as long as I can remember, I've wanted to be a Broadway star. Bringing music, comedy, drama, an escape... Anything the American public wished to take from a performance, that is what I wanted to give. I still do. I'm relatively sure that i always will. However, given my past and current circumstance, I have found myself in the world of emergency medicine. It's an awesome profession, I assure you, however I have long since discovered that it is also a destitute profession. I'm not sure if you've been able to familiarize yourself with EMS, but I am pretty confident when I assume that you and your counterparts are not familiar with the current pay scale. Emergency services provide life saving efforts on a daily basis to every day citizens. I'm sure that you are familiar with such services, if not personally, that either through a friend or family member. And if somehow emergency services have failed to touch you through friends or family (which I pray is a continued experience, or, in the very least,a positive experience if you HAVE dealt with EMS) I hope that you have heard of positive (and negative)experiences. What I'm trying to get at is that I KNOW at some point, you've heard of or experienced an emergent response.

Now that I have established my profession and that of many of my friends and family, my ultimate goal is helping you to see just how hard being an emergency worker is. Yes, regardless of how much we are paid, we will help you and anyone who is in need of help. If that were in question, I would not be writing this. My main issue has to due with the rate of pay that is extended through out these United States for such a pertinent and valuable service.

(ok, just so anyone who reads this knows, I stopped where I did cuzz I've been drinking and don't trust myself to write with any grace from this point foreword. Yes, there are typos, which I am hoping people will see and correct for me. My point isclear, I hope. Yes, I am in need of money to help my family, but if I can't earn it myself, I know I will ocercome. This is my attempt to help BOTH candidates see that SOMETHING needs to change for EMS. Paramedics do as much as any doctor, but are not licensed as such. What they do in the field {car accidents, etc} is unparrelled, yet most recieve just over minimum wage. See what I mean? Again, comments and critisim are welcome.)

It's not that fucking hard to pull over to the side of the road to let emergency crews pass or to stop at a green light in order to let emergency crews through. There is no reason that this man should have lost his life.

Wake the fuck up and pay attention when you're driving!

So, my kidling since Saturday. He's been gettinf fevers off and on and has been complaining of headaches so severe that he's not able to walk. Took him to the doctor Monday and the doctor said to keep an eye on him and blahblahprollyjustavirusblah. WELL! It just might not be a virus!

Check THIS shit out!

Yeah... So the kidling? He has a bottle of that. He's been showing me for the past couple of weeks that he has brushed all the blue off his teeth, meaning he did a good job. And, I did read how it said that in healthy children, there's most likely not going to be anything wrong with them, but it kids with weakend or surpressed immune systems, there could be "significant health risk". The boy? Yeah... He falls into the weakend and/or surpressed immune system. Fucking sweet, right?

So, I called his gramma cuzz I heard about the recall this morning and I figured I'd check on him and he's not doing any better. At all. In fact, she thinks his fevers are getting higher and more frequent. If he's not doing any better by tomorrow, he'll be going back to the doctor. I'll have to have his gramma take him cuzz I'm on 90 days probation here at the ole jobby-job, but she'll be armed with all the info I have, which isn't much at all.

Here's to hoping that the boy isn't horribly ill cuzz he wanted to get plaque off his teeth. :-/

Weird things happen to me A LOT
It's true. Something weird will happen to me or to someone I'm very close to at LEAST once a week. This is, by far, one of the weirdest things I've had happen.

So, I'm sitting on the couch, playing Zelda cuzz it has become my crack. My phone rang. I looked at the front and noticed it was an 800 number. Since it's after 9PM, I knew it couldn't be a bill collector or anything like that, so I figured it might be someone I know calling me with a calling card or something. My gramma does that sometimes, so it's not unheard of.

I answer the phone and it's obviously a recording. I caught it mid-sentence. The dude was saying something about how he thought that I worked too hard and that I needed a break.

Uh... Yeah, I do kinda need a break, but how the fuck does this recording know that?

As I continue to listen, Mr. Recording Dude tells me that he hears I am a doctor. He likes that. He tells me he's going to get his stethescope. Then he starts talking all seductive, telling me that I work too hard and that he knows an isolated island in the Bahamas and that I will have servants and he'll be there, waiting to massage me and check me out with his stethescope, so I don't have to be the doctor for once. He told me that he couldn't wait to see me naked in the sun.

HAHAHAHAHAAA!!!

I seriously think I was just prank called by a phone sex recording. He was going into details when I hung up the phone.

Weird, huh?

Can't.Stop.Giggling.

Back to Zelda.

I'm hoping to hear that they're transferring him down here soon. Covenant obviously doesn't have their priorities in order. To tell a family that they would have to wait due to other situation being more emergent is bullshit when the patient in question was in such bad condition that they needed to be FLOWN IN BY HELICOPTER. You don't just get to say "Hmm... I think I may have stubbed my toe, I need a helicopter to take me to the hospital." Ugh. Hospitals piss me off so much sometimes.

Like they're saying the killed him, but are actually hiding him. The rest of me is thinking they just wanted it done and over with after all the years of bullshit he put his country through.

Either way, I hope the families of all the people he killed are able to find peace now.

Is it bad that I want to see video footage of this?

Holy shit! An update complete with SHINY substance!

Ow. My eyeball is all burny. I am not liking that.

So, the boy went trick or treating on Monday, as most children do. Since he is as obsessed with Spider-Man as I am with Shaun Morgan, he went as his obsession. He even had a shirt and pair of pants with Spider-Man on them under his costume with his treasured Spider-man shoes. He was very cuute. Too bad his momma is retarded and didn't think to take any kind of pictures. I'll just make him put it on again and I'll say they're from then. You people claim to have lives outside of teh inTARweb, so you'll forget and we will never speak of it again. *nods*

I had top take the boy to hit up relatives and we decided to go to my gramma's first and trick or treat around where she lives. We walked in the door to find my aunt and uncle and a BRAND NEW BABY!!! Well, I guess she'd be considfered gently used, since she had just turned a month old, but she was a brand new baby nonetheless. Well, I could not pass up the oppertunity to pick up said baby and be all sorts of revoltingly girly, so we were delayed in our trick or treating. Alex even got to hold her. That was one of the sweetest things I have ever seen. She would NOT takke her eyes off Alex. And he was so gentle and not violent. It was one of those times when I had tears in my eyes and had to go outside and cuss for a few minutes so I could wipe the girly off me. had we known what was going to happen ater that night, Alex wouldn't have been allowed to go near the baby.

We finally go on our candy begging way. We only went around 1 block cuzz Alex's bucket was overflowing! Someone even gave him a king sized candy bar! I think well be hitting that neighborhood again next year with an extra bag for Alex's sister who couldn't come cuzz she broke her leg and instead had to sit at home and cry. Then I can have my own bag of candy to covet and people will feel good about themselves for helping out the poor little kid who couldn't go.* Anyway, we got back to my gramma's and are about to go to Alex's Aunt Char's when he starts complaining of a headache. Ok. He wasn't crying or anything, just said his head hurt. When we got to Char's, he was complaining a bit more. From there, we went to my mom's, who is sporting a spetacularly disgusting wound on the front of her neck from her surgery. Alex then decided that a fever was a good thing to have to go with his happy little headache. So, we got him home and doped him up and he went to sleep. He proceeded to throw up in his bed that night. Twice. Hooray.

The next day, he slept pretty much the entire day. The only time he woke up was to cry about his head and get something to drink. He held down some toast and soup. There was no school. Tuesday night, however, it was happy-fun-stay-up-all-night-time! Ugh. Come Wednesday, I thought he was gonna go to school. He was perfectly fine untill about 1030AM. Then he started saying his head hurt again. Hmm... Fever was back as well. So, I doped him up on Motrin again and layed him down in his room and called the doctor. I got the answering service telling me about normal business hours. I was calling during said hours. So I talked to the message taking people and was told that they were having problems with the phone system and they were to direct all patients to ER. Well, Alex had fallen asleep at that point, so I let him stay that way and decided to wait and see if the headache and fever came back. He woke up normal and playing and bitching cuzz he wanted to go to school but momma sucks and wouldn't let him. So, I think, ok, maybe he's gotten better. I was wrong. Round about dinner time, his headache came back along with his fever. So, off to the ER we go. I made the obligatory phone calls to family while Greg drove. Poor Alex was in the backseat crying that he was cold and his head hurt.

By this point, I was actually scared. See, I live in Grand Blanc Twp and have a Flint mailing address. Basically, I'm in the good part of Flint, but the ghetto part of Grand Blanc. Anyway, just the week before, there was a 5 year old boy in Grand Blanc who had pretty much the same syptoms as Alex who died suddenly. Read the story here There were also 2 cases of menengitis reported in Grand Blanc schools. 2 of the symptoms of menegentis? Severe headache and high fever. The other is neck stiffness, which when I asked Alex if his neck hurt, I was told that it did - when he swallowed. So, while he didn't have the neck pain, he still had 2 other key symptoms. I purposely did not give him any medicine before we went to the hospital. Last thing I needed was to be sent home cuzz the nurses think I'm on crack cuzz Alex is jumping around and all better.

Soon as we get to the hospital, we're put into triage. They take the boy's blood pressure and temp. His temp by then was 103.something. He was so pathetic I wanted to just cry. We went to registration where the nurse registering us is asked if we're going straight back or if we were going back out into the waiting room. She said waiting room, which I figured. The lady then came back into the room and tossed me an insurance card. (Matt put Alex on his insurance at work) I think, "Wonderful. Matt's out in the waiting room cuzz they think Greg is daddy." So, we get done with all that and go out into the waiting room, where we're met by Alex's fan club! I.E.- Grandparents galore from matt's side. (My mommy and tony can't drive right now cuzz they're both on Oxycodone. mommy from surgery and tony from oral surgery) We get back into the ER about 1/2 an hour or so later, which is good time for non-priority symptoms. The doctor feels him and looks in his ears and stuff. She sits down, tells me that she isn't going to be doing a strep test cuzz she doesn't like them and besides, she can see the blisters on the back of his throat. I tell her his BIGGEST complaint has been his headache, which I was pretty much dismissed on. She gave him a popsicle (sp) and said that she didn't like the fact that the Tylenol he was given in triage hadn't touched his fever. It should've by then. So she piggy backed it with Motrin and said if his fever didn't go down, they were going to start an IV and admit him. Well, long ass story short, it went down and she sent us home with a diagnosis of strep throat and a prescription for Amoxocylin (seriously, you'd think I'd know how to spell this shit considering my profession!) and Tylenol with CODIENE. Codiene for a 5 year old. Lovely. So, there was no school this week. I'm just hoping that all he had was strep. The story about that poor little boy and the menegitis cases have me a bit on edge.

So, there you are. An entry with sunstance. Enjoy.

Well, holy damn. I'm actaually updating!

Yeah. So, it occured to me as I was looking at my friends page, that I NEVER update this. I've made 1 entire enntry since I made the account. Way to suck.

Hmm.... I never know what to write about on here cuzz the only people on my friends list besides some random comms are people on my list at DJ. I feel like I'm jipping everyone by posting the same shit twice! LOL I am going to post the entry I made after I read that essay over here as well, though I will take out the part about where I got the colorbar from if needed. Last thing that's needed is some nutjob trying to stat shit through this thing as well.

I need to call my fuckin doctor tomorrow. Ugh. I hate calling people. But I need to find out the results of the piss test they made me take. I'll probably have to set up an appointment. I'm still having chest pain. It's not on the right side as much anymore either. I juist don't want people to think I'm a hypochondriac. My mom used to tell me I was all the time and I hated it. what's amusing though is that with the serious shit, I was always right about something being wrong. i always claim I'm dying when I get sick. It's just my thing. but when my gall bladder quit, she told me I was being a hypochondriac. She finally took me to the doctor when I got wheeled out of my high school in a wheel chair cuzz it hurt to even stand. Lo and behold, myfucking gal bladder had stopped working. It would expand, but not contract. If she had waited one more week to get me in, the doctor said I would have developed gangreen (sp) and died. Way to go Mom. or when I would have asthma attacks and she'd tell me to stop hyperventalating. lol now I'm paranoid, ya know? Gah. Damn parents.

So, Alex has launched into telling me he hates me whenever he's not happy about something. Shit, the other day he woke up from a nap and told me he hated me cuzz he was awake! O_o WTF do you do with THAT? Damn kid. I'm hoping to be able to get him out to the park for a picnic tomorrow. If it's nice out like it was today, it'll be great!

Ok, I guess that'll be it. Dinner just got here, I am off to eat and try to work. yay.

1st entry

Well, I suppose I should post at least ONE entry today, eh? Um....let's see.... I just watched Eminem's video for Like Toy Soldiers. Holy powerful video! I recommend everyone go to Launchcast on Yahoo and check it out. You can get there by going to www.yahoo.com and clicking the link for music.

I'm waiting to be relieved from work right now. My replacement called and said he's be about 1/2 an hour late. no big deal....just means more time on my check! Though, this might impede on my buying a bottle of wine tonight. Grr.

I think my kitty might have gone somewhere to die alone yesterday. I was claling around to vets to see about pricing how much it would cost to have her put to sleep if she needed it cuzz she just is not well. She got out yesterday moring and I haven't seen her since. She's almost 11 years old, so she's gettin up there. But I don't want her to freeze, ya know? And now I haveto figure out a way to tell Alex. *sigh* That's probably gonna be the most difficult part of it all. It's just gonna break his heart.

Ok, I guess that'll do it... Off to find some people!
